1. Name, registration and registered office

Name: SPA Alumni

Status: An autonomous body, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and recognised by SPA New Delhi as its official Alumni Association. The Director of SPA New Delhi is the Patron of the Association.

Certificate of Registration: No. S-23095 of 1992, dated 30th June 1992

Registered office: School of Planning and Architecture, 4, Block-B, Indraprastha Estate, New Delhi – 110002

2. Aims and objects

  • To foster fraternity among the members of the Alumni.
  • To promote and encourage academic, professional and social activities that concern Alumni and the School.
  • To maintain a register of all Alumni of the School with their complete bio-data, present occupation, present address and other relevant details.
  • To collect and disseminate information, and to publish magazines and bulletins and by any other medium the Executive Committee may approve.
  • To organise and establish scholarship funds to help needy and deserving students, and in furtherance of any or all of its objects.
  • To institute prizes and awards for outstanding project work, research papers, academic/professional activity, and outstanding social and community service by Alumni and students.
  • To organise, own, or take on lease or hire, property necessary or convenient for the furtherance of the Association's objects.
  • To receive, invest and deal with the funds and monies of the Association.
  • To secure representation for the Alumni on the various decision-making bodies of the School and of other institutions relating to the Alumni.
  • To do all such lawful acts and things as are conducive or incidental to the attainment of the above objects and/or beneficial to the interests of the School and its Alumni.

3. Membership and funding

The Association receives no grant or funds from SPA New Delhi and operates solely on membership fees paid by its members. Eligibility is limited to graduates of SPA New Delhi.

4. Governance

The Association is run by an elected Executive Committee, currently of 15 seats, per the Rules and Regulations made under this Constitution. Where the number of nominated candidates does not exceed the number of seats, candidates are declared elected without a contested election (as happened for the 2025–28 term).
